At Life Church of the Nazarene everyone is welcome, everyone belongs, and everyone can find hope and healing through Jesus.
In our church, we encourage people to serve as God has designed them. We are a Church not afraid to try new things, to go new places, and explore new ideas.
We are a Church of the Nazarene. Jesus was from Nazareth - a Nazarene. It was a small town that was looked down upon by many. We identify with that humility. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. So, we choose to be the same.
God is doing something incredible in our world, in our community, and in our lives. We live to be a part of his plan. Won’t you join us on this adventure?

@Life Church we believe that...
We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.
We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
Our mission is a simple one. We first experience God's LOVE for us and then learn to LOVE God and others. As we act in love we will naturally…
GROW in our relationship with Christ and those around us and…
as we grow we can't help but SERVE others everywhere through the power of the Spirit.
Love, Grow, Serve - Not just something we do, but an explanation of who we are as we follow Christ.
I have been in ministry for 17 years. I am a photographer, musician, writer, communicator, the family cook, and a sci-fi fan. More importantly, I am a pastor, a husband, a father of 3, a Christian, a servant, and a broken worshiper. I am learning to love the journey and care less about the destination. I am striving to live a simple life; trading what I am tempted to consider necessities and comforts, to be a part of God’s radical plan to love and save the world.
I have learned to walk with God who gives me enough light for the next step on the path. I tried to chart my own course and ended up a lost, sick, almost-dead addict, without hope. Today, I just want to follow God and help others to do the same. I invite you to join me. I know it will be an exciting adventure.
I am a father, husband, speaker, pastor, and friend. I am proud, humbled, broken, healed, unworthy, and redeemed. I am REAL. In all things I try to be real about God and my relationship to Him. We were created for abundant life that only comes though Christ and we are encouraged to seek hard after that life all through the Scriptures. I believe that it is only through getting real about Who God is and who we are in comparison that we find the joy to daily Reach Eagerly After the Life that we were created for.
I desire to put my best foot forward, but not at the cost of being fake. The world has seen enough “Perfect” Christians. The world needs to see more Christians for who they really are…. broken, flawed, and utterly messed up servants who have been miraculously redeemed, healed, and called into life abundant through Christ. I look forward to doing life, REAL life, with you.
I was 10 years old when I first accepted God‘s saving grace in the person of Jesus Christ. I am answering God’s call on my life today in being a pastor to God’s people, a wife to my Husband, and a Mom to three teenagers. I am learning that it is in my obedience to my Father in Heaven that I am able to really know God, who he is and what he is about. This allows me to recognize God’s working in people and circumstances when I see it and follow his lead in it.
Even as a young person, God’s work in me and my life was nothing short of a miracle, yet I still tried to make my own way in the world. I followed my own natural inclinations to their natural ends, losing myself in the process. When I finally did reach the end of myself, there waiting for me was God. While our journey together has not been easy or comfortable, this Christian life most certainly is a Great Adventure, one I would be thrilled to share with YOU. ☺
Hey, I’m Michelle and I’m the young adult pastor here at Life Church. I try to live my life loving and serving God and I hope to model and communicate what authentic faith looks like to those I serve.
I also teach 7th graders at Indian River Middle School; I’ve been at it for 12 years! In fact, I was teaching when I met Micah: my husband, best friend and co-conspirator in ministry. We both love spending time outdoors, learning about God from his creation and admiring His creativity. We have 2 young daughters, Leah Rae and Sadie Faith, and we're excited to see how God uses our entire family to further His Kingdom.
I have been in the ministry for 19-1/2 years. I am an Ordained Deacon, Minister of Visitation for hospitals, nursing homes and shut-ins. I was a former Licensed Practical Nurse. I am a servant of God, Christian, Listener, and want to follow God. I want to keep going deeper in God’s love. I enjoy reading His word.
I love talking with people. I enjoy Christian music and camping and getting together with family.
I became a Christian when I was 29 years old. I am a wife and mom of 2 college age girls. I am also a singer and quilter, and serve on our worship team and as the church secretary. One of my long-time passions is lyrical dance and I love to watch that type of physical expression of God’s love. I also enjoy watching God’s little signs of love through the beautiful outdoors and often find a great peace there. I have just recently been struck by the absoluteness…the bigness of God and how incredible it is that he loves me the way he does.
I am so grateful that Jesus Christ saved me from a dark and desolate life. And although I have walked through some very deep waters, even as a Christian, God has never left me, and he has never forsaken me. Always by my side in one way or another, he not only rescued me, but blessed me beyond the help that I needed.
I am humbled that even though I have so much more to learn and am so imperfect, he continues to work on me every day to become the woman of God that I am intended to be. My prayer is that his light continues to grow inside of me- that it would be a beacon to those he places in my path – and that through his continued guidance and grace – those people would come to know the incredible love of Jesus Christ.
Life Church of the Nazarene got its start in 1938 when Pastor Trevor Gray moved to Watertown and invited evangelist Fred Suffield to hold a revival. The people that got saved became the charter members of the new Watertown First Church of the Nazarene. That first generation of members purchased a house on Boyd Street that became their church (downstairs) and parsonage (upstairs) for the next twenty years.
The second generation of members built a cement block building on the same property (behind the Great American grocery store) and worshipped there for another two decades while buying property for future expansion.
The third generation built on that Thompson Boulevard property and added to it a decade later. From there the members of Watertown First Church planted the church in LaFargeville. Today we continue growing and expanding.
We changed our name to Life Church of the Nazarene as we expanded our ministry reach beyond Watertown to the surrounding areas.
The current generations of Life Church of the Nazarene have a long and proud spiritual history in the North Country. We can't wait to see what God will do next!
From 9:45 to 10:45 am we have Grow Groups (Sunday School classes) meeting in every corner of our building. You might join a college age/young adult group or a ladies' Bible study at the church.
